Anya Kivarkis

Anya Kivarkis received an MFA in Metal from the State University of New York, SUNY New Paltz in 2004. She is currently the Visiting Assistant Professor of Jewelry/Metalsmithing at the University of Oregon in Eugene. In 2007, she was the recipient of the Sienna Gallery Emerging Artist Award, and presented the solo exhibition titled, ‘Blind Spot’. Recent and upcoming exhibitions include a solo exhibition with Galerie Rob Koudijs in the Netherlands, ‘Schmuck 2007’, ‘Northwest Biennial’ and ‘The Surrealist Impulse’ at the Tacoma Art Museum, and ‘Laced with History’ at the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Wisconsin. She was a recipient of the 2008 Oregon Arts Commission Individual Artists Fellowship, and the 2007 Rotasa Foundation grant to support the publication of ‘The Thinking Body’, an exhibition co-curated with Kate Wagle. Her work is included in collections such as the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, The Rotasa Foundation, and the Tacoma Art Museum. Publications include Metalsmith, American Craft, and Italian ELLE Magazines.
